Lucas, a highly observant boy with high functioning autism, quickly noticed one of his class members rarely joined the class outside for recess. Once there, he often only watched as everyone else played. Lucas could not understand why anyone would choose to skip the best part of any 3rd graders day, RECESS!
After learning from his classmate how difficult it was to even get to the playground and once there he could only watch as everyone else played, Lucas made it his mission to give his new friend the chance to play.
After meeting with his teacher, the principle, the Mayor and the City Council, Lucas and Friends Backyard Adventures has been approved and with your help will become a place where no one is left only watching from the sidelines. Where limitations are forgotten and differences are celebrated!
