Located at the site of the former Raymore train depot, the splash pad at T.B. Hanna Station Park will offer water play and fun for everyone!
This unique train-themed project represents a partnership between Unlimited Play, the City of Raymore and Variety KC, who gave a generous donation for the city to incorporate inclusive design into the construction plans. When the sprayground is finished, it will become the first in the state of Missouri and one of few in the country designed to be enjoyed by people of all abilities. Paired with Hawk’s Nest playground at Hawk Ridge Park, the City of Raymore will also be the first city in Missouri with TWO inclusive playgrounds!
The splash pad design centers on a train and train track with in-ground and overhead spray jets located throughout, including dump buckets! The park’s custom designed train also serves as a tunnel that can accommodate walking, crawling and wheelchair users. Special colored lighting at the water jets means this splash pad can be enjoyed even when the sun starts to go down! And did we mention there will also be an ice skating rink in the winter months?
