About McCoy Park Inclusive Playground

Located in the heart of Independence, McCoy Park is home to a fully inclusive playground where children of all abilities can play, explore, and imagine together. Designed by Unlimited Play in partnership with Variety KC, the playground features a Western-inspired theme that celebrates the area’s rich history while creating an environment that is welcoming and accessible to everyone.
The playground includes accessible ramps, adaptive swings, sensory play elements, musical instruments, slides, and poured-in-place safety surfacing, allowing children of all abilities to experience the joy of play side by side. Adjacent to the playground is Daniel’s Diamond, an adaptive baseball field that further expands opportunities for inclusive recreation.
Together, these amenities have transformed McCoy Park into a destination where families of all abilities can gather, play, and create lasting memories.
