Our vision is to create a welcoming playground that provides a variety of play experiences for children of all abilities, incorporating accessible features that encourage exploration, imagination, and social connection. We envision a space that inspires friendship, encourages active play, celebrates diversity, and fosters a strong sense of belonging. Through thoughtful, universally accessible design, our playground will become a place where all students can learn from one another, build confidence, and create lasting memories together, strengthening our entire community.
The mission of the Sumpter Elementary Inclusive Playground Project is to create a safe, accessible, and welcoming play environment where children of all abilities can learn, play, and grow together. By removing barriers to participation, we strive to foster inclusion, promote physical and social development, and ensure every student has equal opportunities to build friendships, develop confidence, and experience the joy of play. Our goal is to strengthen our school community by creating a playground that reflects our commitment to equity, belonging, and opportunity for every child.
