The Ponchatoula Jaycees mission is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. We are dedicated to meeting community needs year-round. Our passion for this playground is inspired by children who have deeply impacted our lives. If even one more family benefit from the inclusion this playground offers, we will have achieved our dream.

The Ace of Hearts Foundation is dedicated to fostering community acceptance and providing support and encouragement to children with autism and special needs, as well as their families. Our mission is to give these families the opportunity to enjoy activities that typical families experience, without the added stresses. We believe there is nothing better than an all-inclusive playground. Many parks have limited inclusive equipment for children with disabilities. An inclusive playground offers ALL children the chance to play, develop friendships, and enjoy a safe environment.

Our Inspirations

Ace, an eight-year-old boy diagnosed with Sanfilippo Syndrome, embodies the spirit of our foundation. His joyful presence lights up any room, and he reminds us that disabilities do not define our capabilities. We love inclusive playgrounds because they provide a secure space for ALL children. Ace will be free to play and make friends.

Hadley, almost 2 years old, is the joy of our lives, lighting up rooms with her big smile. She loves running and climbing, but nearby parks don’t accommodate her special needs for safe play.

Born without a sense of danger or fear, Hadley is energetic and deserves a safe place to play, as do other children with disabilities. They just want to play like other kids their age. Creating a park where children can show their true potential and enjoy playing freely is essential. Every child should have the freedom to exercise and play as they wish.
